From K-12 teachers thoughtfully introducing AI literacy in their classrooms to nonprofit leaders building sustainable programs for their communities, these women are doing the essential frontline work. Their efforts showcase the quiet yet powerful impact of educators who roll up their sleeves every day, leading responsible AI adoption from the ground up, one classroom, one project, and one student at a time.

Chief Improvement Officer at Reading Horizons | USA

To build AI literacy at Reading Horizons, Kiana prioritizes the safe and ethical use of AI across the organization. She fosters spaces for ongoing learning, collaboration, and mentoring. By focusing on ethical considerations, she is encouraging team players to use AI responsibly and with an awareness of its impacts. Through targeted microlearning sessions and real-world use cases, Kiana provides practical examples highlighting AI’s benefits while maintaining accountability and integrity.

Mehar works closely with teachers to build Almanack. She is passionate about using AI to make personalized learning accessible to every student in every classroom. Alamanack’s community of teachers not only decides what features are built, but they get to 'teach' the models how to produce useful output. Mehar and her team have created these frameworks with educators and their engineers. They also ground the LLMs they use to produce more accurate and contextually specific data, and we run evals to evaluate the relevance of the output produced.

CEO, Sprout Labs Inc. | United States

Carla builds products and companies that bring the resources critical for a child’s reading success to schools, and now families. Carla is launching Sprout Labs to equip families with the tools and confidence they need to help their children thrive as confident readers. The EarlyBird screener, leveraging AI, brain science and gamification, has transformed the early literacy assessment experience for children and teachers alike, with a software game that’s engaging, predictive of reading risk, comprehensive and evidence-based.

Margot aims to promote dialog in social and emotional learning (SEL) and mental health education around the responsible use of AI tools to enhance student and staff well-being. In 2024, She joined Alongside, a platform leveraging clinician-designed AI to deliver accessible, barrier-free mental health support for middle and high school students. Margot works closely with innovative educators and thought leaders to produce webinars, reports, and insights that spotlight the potential of ethical, evidence-based AI to augment mental health support. She aims to promote AI literacy and foster a deeper understanding of how ethical AI can transform SEL and mental health support in education.

Susan is a distinguished EdTech entrepreneur with deep expertise in leveraging technology for social impact. At Third Road, she and her team are building responsible, evidence-based AI tools to offer personalized, privacy-centered advising for students and families. Their generative AI supports informed, affordable education and career choices, drawing from established learning sciences to ensure quality guidance that empowers students to make confident, meaningful decisions.

Jamie bridges Carnegie Learning’s Product and Research teams, leading generative AI projects that promote equity, inclusion, and meaningful learning outcomes. She also spearheads initiatives like using AI-generated videos to foster belonging among underrepresented students and helping teachers make data-driven instructional decisions.

Ksenia is passionate about solutions that help educators save time, inspire creativity, enhance classroom engagement, and improve student outcomes. As Head of International Expansion at fobizz, the team has been working with an NGO, Ukrainian Smile, to provide AI tools and training to teachers in the war zones in Ukraine. The purpose is to minimize the digital gap from this war. Additionally, AI tools and training can help teachers cope better with the daily unpredictable teaching scenarios due to Russian military attacks.

As CEO and founder of StudyHall.AI, Sofia and her team provide reading age and other high-stakes diagnostics and use AI to prescribe and power reading and curriculum to accelerate learning goals. Evidence-based and Digital Promise certified, they offer free AI Literacy resources to help students aged 9-14 develop AI Literacy through reading about AI and our rapidly evolving world. Soon, she will launch a premium AI Literacy reading-based program with MIT Technology Review for schools and homes in December. Sofia also serves on the advisory board of Common Sense Media.

This year, she and her team have launched their Adventures with AI program, specially designed for girls 12-16 years old, with support from Gen AI experts. This program delivers a holistic understanding of this new technology—how it works, its advantages and limitations, how to use it creatively, and how to think critically about it. They also teach the girls the importance of privacy and responsible and ethical use of AI.

All their content is GDPR compliant, they create PD courses with experts, and are dedicated to safe and open-minded innovation in education.

Renee is the Community Manager for Almanack and is currently building out an ambassador program. She also consults with new AI tools in the education space to help ensure they are focused on equity, limit bias, and are suitable for the K-12 space.

Maureen’s biggest passion is harnessing AI technology effectively in the classroom. With 16 years of experience as a former educator and 9 years as a technology coach, she understands the challenges teachers face and their profound impact on their students. At SchoolAI, Maureen and her team focus on using AI to help educators personalize learning in ways that feel natural and impactful.

Growing up in a small town in India, Jiya always saw the impact of educational opportunities. Through her work at Twin Science & Robotics, Ebru integrates high-quality, evidence-based, generative AI tools into STEM education, giving webinars and training sessions to educators worldwide. Shel helps teachers build cultures of creativity in their classrooms by using Adobe Express for Education, the creativity app with responsible generative AI designed to be classroom-safe. She regularly works with teachers and K12 students, teaching them to write effective prompts and use text-to-image capabilities to express their thinking in deeper ways.
