Educator Pricing for OpenAI?

GenAI has enormous potential to transform the education system, but ChatGPT-4 is just too expensive for schools to equip their teachers with the best model on the market.

GenAI has enormous potential to transform the education system, but ChatGPT-4 is just too expensive for schools to equip their teachers with the best model on the market.

This creates a gap in technology access, which is poised to affect teachers' ability to find productivity gains and create targeted, differentiated instructional materials and exacerbate the existing divide in educational quality and access.

Per the recent IMF report, AI “will likely worsen overall inequality” and affect nearly 40% of all jobs – even more (60%+) in advanced economies like the US, EU, and UK. Which means access to these tools continues to become even more critical.

What we would love to see:

OpenAI providing discounted rates to GPT-4 or Teams for educators, following the lead of Apple, Canva, Microsoft, Headspace and others, who offer discounted or free pricing for educators without degrading quality or functionality of their core tools.
