Translate Text to Emojis with ChatGPT

In ChatGPT or your favorite AI Chatbot, have your students cut and paste the following prompt to translate any piece of text into emojis. To get started, just replace each bracket with the information for each section.

Make the Prompt Work for You

  • Have students work in small groups; each group can ask ChatGPT questions around a specific theme, e.g. animals, foods, sports, etc. and have them translated to emojis.

  • After ChatGPT has translated students' sentences, print them out and have students try to translate them back into English!

  • Use emoji writing for other forms of creative writing such as poetry and short stories.

  • Play emoji charades or emoji Pictionary - ask ChatGPT for tips!
