Prompt-a-thon in NYC!

We ran another incredible AI for Education Prompt-a-Thon this Saturday, teaming up with Thomas A Edison Career And Technical High School and Playlab AI to empower students and teachers to learn and create with GenAI in Queens South. We had 11 teams of students and teachers came together to tackle community challenges using GenAI.

Following a liberatory design-thinking process, the teams ideated, prototyped, and presented innovative solutions built on Playlab, addressing diverse issues such as:

⭐ AI-Stellar Caretaker: Supporting elderly community members living alone

πŸ₯ MedBot: Helping community members understand symptoms and find affordable medical care

πŸ’•  Empathy Echo: Processing negative metro experiences and promoting safety

πŸŽ“ FutureFocusEd: Offering career and college guidance

πŸ’Ό Internship Opportunities AI: Identifying relevant internships in multiple languages

πŸ“ SAT Assistant: Providing affordable SAT prep to students

πŸ—“ Zenith Calendar: Prioritizing projects and breaking down tasks

🚧 Safety Starts with Us (SSWU): Supporting mechanics and autobody students with car safety

We'd love how engaged the participants, we could barely get them to eat lunch! I couldn't be prouder of everyone involved and can't wait to see how these young innovators continue to shape the future with AI!

Thanks to Corey Layne Crouch, Moses Ojeda, Yusuf Ahmad, Ethan Castro, Ian Serlin.
