My Wishlist for ChatGPT
OpenAI is looking to sell shares at a $80-90 billion valuation, up from 29B in April. With all that new cash about to come in, here's my wishlist for ChatGPT:
A button to report instances of bias and hallucinations
Clearer ongoing guidance on what ChatGPT can and can't do well
A degree of confidence rating in the accuracy of an answer - similar to the Google Search capability of Bard that was just released
Transparency on the content of training data sets
Guardrails in place for young people aged 13-18 that go beyond parental permission
A commitment to free AI Literacy training so that users can responsibly and effectively adopt these tools
Integrating key features like plug-ins and Advanced Data Analysis to the free version to support equity of access
While ChatGPT is the fastest a tech tool has ever been adopted, we can't ignore that it has enormous ethical and technical issues that have not yet been solved (or seemingly prioritized). Which is why it's so important that OpenAI makes a commitment to do better going forward.
