As we begin the 2024-2025 school year, it’s clear that AI literacy is a crucial skill for both educators and students. Is your school or district ready to explore responsible Generative AI (GenAI) integration? Join our 3x3 GenAI Roadmap Challenge! By completing three key tasks in the next three months, you’ll be well on your way to empowering faculty and students to use GenAI ethically and effectively.

Join the Challenge

1. Gather data and evidence from stakeholders (teachers, students, leaders, caregivers, and community members) by sending out a survey, hosting focus groups, and/or holding a town hall

What GenAI tools are stakeholders already using? How are they being used?
What hopes, concerns, and questions do your stakeholders have about generative AI in education?
Work with IT staff to ensure appropriate measures are in place for vetting tools and ensuring data security for all users

2. Create a cross-functional AI working group to coordinate your efforts

Include a variety of perspectives: school leaders, teachers, media specialists, students, IT staff, caregivers, and other community members
Engage in professional development to develop a shared understanding of GenAI before beginning strategic work
Set a clear goal for implementation that is aligned to your mission and values and takes into account your teaching and learning needs

3. Develop a plan for responsible GenAI implementation that focuses on the development of AI literacy and guidance for responsible use

Identify key focus areas and action items, drawing on evidence gathered from stakeholders
Review existing resources and adapt them to fit your institution's specific context and goals for AI guidance and implementation
Create an outline and make a plan for drafting, feedback, and revision of the implementation roadmap
